Tualatin, OR—About 5,000 wooden playpens were voluntarily recalled by AOSOM LLC and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) for injury hazards. The CPSC announced the product recall on March 3, 2011.
The product recall was issued after discovering that the wooden playpen can break, spilt and/or crack at mounts where screws and other hardware are located. These small, broken wood pieces and hardware pose a risk of choking and lacerations to children. The playpen can fall over onto a child if it is unstable, posing an entrapment hazard.
The CPSC reported, “This recall involves AOSOM wooden playpens made from pine wood. The firm’s logo ‘A’ and ‘www.AOSOM.com’ is stamped on the gate of the playpen.” The following four models are included in this recall:
