Beatrice, NE — About 750 Exmark Pioneer S-Series riding lawnmowers were voluntarily recalled for crash hazards by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Exmark Manufacturing Company. The CPSC announced the product recall on March 29, 2011.
The product recall was issued after discovering that the welds on the motion control linkage can fail and cause the driver to lose control of the machine, which poses a crash hazard.
“2011 Exmark Pioneer S-Series zero radius turn riding mowers with red, welded, tubular steel frames and mowing decks in three sizes – 44, 48 and 52 inches. Operators use two levers to control the mowers. The name Exmark is on the front of the seat mount and the name Pioneer is on the front of the floor pan,” reported the CPSC press release.
The following models and serial number ranges are involved in the recall:
• Model: PNS20KA443
• Serial number Range: 928367 to 947833
• Model: PNS22KA483
• Serial number Range: 928417 to 949985
• Model: PNS24KA523
• Serial number Range: 928492 to 950315
Consumers are advised to contact Exmark dealer to have the improperly welded parts replaced.
