Myrtle Beach area U.S. 501 tractor-trailer driver crashes into Ford pickup truck.
Myrtle Beach, SC(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A tractor-trailer attempting to make a U-turn from south U.S. 501 crashed into a pickup truck driver at about 5:55 a.m. Friday morning as reported by The Sun News. South Carolina Highway Patrol in cooperation with emergency rescue crews closed the southbound lanes of U.S. 501 to allow a medical helicopter to land and transport the seriously injured pickup truck driver. Heavy smoke from the South Carolina wildfires obstructed the pilot’s view.
The Ford pickup truck driver, who was traveling northbound U.S. 501 when he was struck was transported to Conway Hospital by ground ambulance crews. South Carolina highway accident investigators claim the 39 year-old pickup truck driver was pinned in his truck and suffered a traumatic brain injury during the crash. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured in the truck wreck. The crash site location is U.S. 501 and Lambert Road, just south of S.C. 22 interchange between Conway and Aynor.
