Culver City, CA — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Topson Downs of California have voluntarily recalled about 2,100 women’s dresses for flammability risks. The CPSC announced the product recall on June 28, 2011, over the dresses’ failure to meet the federal flammability standard.

The product recall was issued after discovering that the dresses fail to meet the federal flammability standard for wearing apparel, which poses a fire hazard to consumers.

“The dress is a Bar III brand dress, and is fully lined with a sheer rayon outer layer. There is a white label with ‘Bar III’ written in black on the inside back of the dress. The dress has a checkered, multi-colored, and black pattern called ‘Mint Chili Combo’ and was sold in five adult sizes, ranging from extra small to extra large,” reported the CPSC.

Consumers have been advised to return the dresses, which were exclusively sold at Macy’s Department stores for $60, for a full refund.

For more information concerning the product recall, consumers can contact Macy’s toll-free at (888) 257-5949 between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. ET or visit macys.com or contact Topson Downs at (800) 241-2975 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. PT or via email at customerservice@topsondowns.com.
