40,000 pounds of cat food dumped on I-95 in Palm Beach County during car crash.

West Palm Beach, FL(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–An automobile accident involving four vehicles injured at least one man early Monday morning in Palm Beach County, Florida. The Palm Beach Post reports the motor vehicle collision (MVC) took place in Jupiter on Interstate 95. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) state troopers say the multi-vehicle car wrecks began around midnight when a southbound BMW, driven by 43 year-old Dale Chlumsky, of Palm Beach Gardens, ran into the rear of a Dodge Neon on I-95 near Donald Ross Road. Chlumsky, who police authorities suspect may have been intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, drove another mile before his BMW left the freeway and landed in a ditch.

Palm Beach County roadway accident investigators say the driver of the Dodge, whose name has not been released, struck a guardrail and exited his vehicle on his own. A big rig truck from Clewiston, also traveling southbound, was transporting approximately 40,000 pounds of cat food when it struck the Dodge. The 18 wheeler truck flipped onto its side, scattering cans of cat food onto the highway’s median. The fourth and final vehicle involved in the MVC was a Honda. The Honda, from Stuart, was carrying four passengers and heading southbound when it hit the Dodge. The names of the drivers of the semi-truck and Honda are unknown.

Palm Beach County area paramedics transported the driver of the BMW, Chlumsky, to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries by doctors and nurses. The remaining drivers and passengers were reported uninjured. Palm Beach County officials shut down one lane of southbound I-95 for several hours as crew members cleared the highway of debris and cat food.
