Workers Fall into Power Lines in Brandon Township Industrial Accident—1 Dead

Brandon Township, MI — An industrial accident killed a 51-year-old Clio man, after he and a co-worker fell from a ladder and into several electrical wires Thursday, March 1, 2012. The work-related accident occurred on the corner of Mill and Pond streets just after 2 p.m. in Brandon Township, reported the Oakland Press.

According to reports, the victim and a co-worker had fallen from a ladder while trying to climb to the top of a two-story building. The men fell into several electrical wires, which electrocuted the 51-year-old man.

The co-worker, a 48-year-old Clio man, was shocked in the fall. He was conscious and alert on the ground when medical teams arrived at the scene.

Both of the victims were rushed to an area hospital, where the 51-year-old man was pronounced dead.

The identities of the men are being withheld at this time.

Investigators with the Michigan OSHA will be arriving at the scene to conduct a full investigation.
