GAC(R) 2500UGMA Receives GIPSA Approval

Selected as a Federal Standard in Grain Moisture Analysis

/EINPresswire.com/ AUBURN, IL, April 11, 2012 – DICKEY-john announced today it has received notification that the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) has successfully evaluated the DICKEY-john GAC(R) 2500UGMA according to the requirements listed in “Criteria and Checklist for Unified Grain Moisture Algorithm (UGMA) and Official System Compatibility”. As a result of this successful evaluation, the DICKEY-john GAC(R) 2500UGMA is now GIPSA-Certified as UGMA-Compatible.

In a letter dated April 9, 2012, Mary Alonzo of the USDA praised DICKEY-john’s efforts throughout the certification process and states that “we look forward to working with DICKEY-john for many years to come to utilize this new moisture technology for the benefit of the United States and global grain industries.”

The letter further reads: “Thank you very much for the huge commitment that you and your company have made to develop and manufacture this instrument and for the diligent cooperation of your engineering team in completing the evaluation of UGMA-compatibility.”

DICKEY-john’s GAC(R) 2500 was deemed one of 2010’s most innovative designs in engineering products or systems for the food and agriculture industries by the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). The unit is equipped with NTEP calibrations for all grain types, and most recently, received NTEP approval for frozen grain calibrations with operating temperatures of -4° F to + 113° F. Custom calibrations are available for specialty products such as walnuts and almonds, as well as non NTEP calibrations, making this unit a valuable moisture testing tool in a variety of industries.

Roger VanderKolk, Product Manager, states “we are excited to receive this important certification within the official grain inspection system. The GAC(R) 2500 offers the grain industry the latest load cell technology, improved mechanics, and fast infrared temperature compensation making this unit very responsive providing shorter analysis time that are extremely important during busy seasons.”

DICKEY-john’s analytical instrumentation, including the GAC(R) 2500, are designed and assembled in Auburn, IL, USA.
