Mingora, Pakistan – A 14-year-old Pakistani female activist was shot and killed by Taliban gunmen on Tuesday. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the teen, Malala Yousufzai, who received notoriety as an advocate for girls’ education and for speaking out against atrocities by the Taliban, was shot in the head while taking a bus home from school.

As noted in the report, another girl was also wounded in the shooting.
