Dry Hollow Ranch’s signature weekend getaway, known as Botox & Bullets has been named by MSN as one of the ten most decadent experiences in the country.
Botox & Bullets is a one-of-a-kind getaway created for groups of four to eight women (or 2-3 couples) who are interested in combining an introduction to handguns with indulgent spa services, including botox, if desired.
Ranch Owner, Kathy Simmons, RN, BSN, is a state-licensed Concealed Handgun Instructor, as well as a co-owner of Bella Luz, a well-established MedSpa in Kerrville, TX. She and her husband, Mike Simmons, a retired offshore oil industry broker, host getaway weekends tailored to each group of guests. Often, guest lecturers are included, such as a PhD. Sexologist, a beauty makeover artist, or a self-empowerment speaker.
Weekends include an introduction to safe firearm handling, and plenty of live-fire range time, making sure guests are always comfortable.
Many women come to Botox & Bullets having never fired a gun, and are understandably nervous, But as Kathy reports, “Before the end of the weekend, every woman so far has wanted to get back to the range for more shooting. It helps to have a woman showing them the ropes.”
Kathy goes on to say, “Women are often afraid of guns, but once they discover the gun is not really a snake about to bite them…they are hooked! It’s all about education and moving at the guest’s own pace. We have fun, lots of it, but are very serious about gun safety and making our guests comfortable.”
The combination of spa services, fine Tex-gourmet meals and beverages, and a new upscale Texas ranch lodge/pool/spa with a view “to die for”, truly does make a Botox & Bullets all-inclusive weekend one of the best decadent experiences in the country, as described by MSN.
