Minnesota construction accident – Worker killed

Occupational Health and Safety Administration alerts Minnesota construction accident lawyer- A fall at a Texas Roadhouse construction site left a worker dead.

Duluth, MN—A worker was fatally injured after he fell to his death at a Texas Roadhouse construction site Saturday, October 31, 2009, around 5:41 p.m., at 1101 Mall Drive, as reported by the Duluth News Tribune.

The Duluth Fire Department rushed to the Texas Roadhouse construction site after Robert B. Gotschall, 31, of Mentor, Ohio was found lying at the bottom of a stairway inside the building. Rescue teams tried to revive the worker by administering CPR, as he was rushed by ambulance to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment. His injuries proved fatal after Gotschall did not respond to the rescue team’s efforts, and he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Police officials stated his injuries were consistent with a fall, but they do not know what caused him to fall.

Gotschall was employed by Roth Painting of Bellaire when the accident occurred.The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry is reportedly investigating the fatal construction accident. Officials with the federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) http://www.osha.gov are expected to also conduct a full investigation. This is the first reported fatality at a Texas Roadhouse construction project. The restaurant is slated to open on January 25th.
