Connecticut – A 10-year-old boy called police to report that his father was driving under the influence while in the car with him. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Connecticut police say the frightened child stated he was considering jumping out of the vehicle during his call.
The boy’s father, 49-year-old Owen Gilman, reportedly crashed into another vehicle on an interstate in Stonington on Wednesday night.
The boy and his 12-year-old sister, who was also stated to be in the vehicle at the time of the incident, were treated for injuries. The unidentified motorist of the other vehicle was hospitalized.
Gilman has been charged with reckless driving and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol in addition to other offenses.
