Lexington Park, MD (NewYorkInjuryNews.com) – Five children from Little Flower School were driven by ambulance to the hospital after a pickup truck pulled out in front of a school bus, on Wednesday morning, December 16, 2009, according to So MD News.
Police and Emergency medical (EMS) arrived at the scene to transport the injured, and to investigate the crash. The driver of the pickup was identified as 55-year-old William Woodley Dyson, who had failed to yield the right of way to the school bus. He was taken to Prince Georges Shock Trauma via Police Trooper helicopter for treatment of his injuries by doctors.
Dyson was reportedly flown by Maryland State Police Trooper 7 helicopter. The five students ranging from ages 6 to 13 were taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for evaluation. The students were taken back to school before lunchtime. School authorities reported that this school bus accident is the second one to have occurred in the past two weeks.
On December 9, 2009, a school bus transporting students to St. John’s School and St. Mary’s Ryken High School was involved in a crash on St. Andrew’s Church Road.
