Massachusetts – A Massachusetts judge recently granted a restraining order that preserves some of the assets of former NFL player Aaron Hernandez following the filing of a wrongful death lawsuit. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), during the hearing on Thursday in New Bedford Superior Court, a temporary agreement that a home belonging to the former New England Patriot player could be used for any future judgment in the civil case was granted.
Hernandez has been sued by the family of Odin Lloyd, whom he has been accused of killing. As noted by the AP, the wrongful death lawsuit alleges Hernandez, “maliciously, willfully, wantonly, recklessly or by gross negligence caused Odin Lloyd to suffer personal injuries that directly resulted in his death.”
Hernandez is being held without bail after being arrested for murder in the shooting death of Lloyd. Llyod, 27, was dating the sister of Hernandez’s girlfriend. He was released by the Patriots on the day of his June arrest.
