London – Rock legend and Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is now a great grandfather. As reported by RollingStone.com, Jagger’s 21-year-old granddaughter Assisi Jackson gave birth to her first child with 25-year-old boyfriend Alex Key over the weekend. The couple had a baby girl.
The announcement comes a little over two months after Jagger’s girlfriend, fashion designer L’Wren Scott, committed suicide. Scott was found dead in her New York apartment after an apparent hanging. Jagger is quoted as writing in tribute to her on his Facebok page, “I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way… We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me.
The Stones postponed tour dates following Scott’s death, but are set to resume their tour on May 26 in Norway.
