Oregon – Several former and current employees of the United Parcel Service in Kentucky have filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against the company. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the eight plaintiffs in the case say they faced poor treatment after complaining about issues such as the severity of infractions given to black employees in comparison with those given to white employees.
The lawsuit also claims that a figure hung outside of the manager’s office purportedly made in the likeness of a black UPS employee was left there for four days.
Susan Rosenberg, a spokeswoman for UPS, is quoted by the AP as stating of the company’s handling of the employees’ complaints, “We took it seriously,” and each complaint had been investigated.
The men are seeking unspecified damages in the suit, which was filed Fayette County Circuit Court in Lexington.
