Florida – A Florida man reportedly attempted to hide drugs in his stomach fat after being pulled over by deputies. As reported by Yahoo! News, the 450-pound man, Christopher Mitchell, was pulled over by Volusia County Sheriff’s Office deputies for not wearing a seatbelt. The routine traffic stop led to deputies calling for a K-9 dog to sniff for drugs due to the purported nervous demeanor of Mitchell and Keithian Roberts, an associate who was with him in the vehicle at the time.
WFTV Channel 9 is quoted as writing of the incident, “the dog quickly alerted deputies to the presence of drugs.”
Marijuana was reportedly found underneath Mitchell’s stomach fat. A handgun, cocaine, and thousands of dollars in cash were also found in the vehicle.
Both men were arrested and have been charged with possession.
