New Jersey – A former employee of Fulton Financial Corp has filed a lawsuit against the company alleging it refused to allow her to avoid rush hour traffic after making the request as part of her treatment for anxiety and depression. As reported by Lancaster Online, Andrea DeGerolamo of New Jersey, says the company also retaliated against her after she complained about it.

DeGeralamo says she was wrongfully terminated and retaliated against after the company refused to accommodate her request that she be allowed to go to work and leave at times that would allow her to avoid rush hour. She reportedly sought treatment for anxiety and depression “which was especially aggravated by crowded roadways experienced during the heavy traffic of rush hour,” according to the lawsuit.

DeGeralamo says the company initially granted her request, but rescinded as well as reassigned her different work duties prior to firing her in May.

The lawsuit is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
