Washington – The CEO of Delphi Automotive Plc is set to be questioned by a U.S. Senate panel in connection with a probe into General Motors Co’s handling of an ignition switch issue with some of its automobiles. As reported by Reuters, a Senate Commerce subcommittee hearing set for July 17 will be the first time an executive of the company that makes the ignition switches linked to the problem will appear before committees involved in the GM investigation.

Delphi CEO Rodney O’Neal will appear before the panel along with GM’s CEO Mary Barra and GM’s chief counsel Michael Milliken.

An investigation has also been enacted by the U.S. House of Representatives Energy and Commerce Committee. Barra has already testified at two hearings before the committee.

According to a committee aid, Delphi has submitted an estimated 7,500 pages of documents related to the probe, and others are being produced.
