Guantanamo Bay – A Navy nurse from the United States has been sent back to the country after refusing to force-feed hunger strikers at Guantanamo Bay. As reported by the Miami Herald the nurse, who has not publicly been identified, has had no resolution of his case as of yet.

The nurse was temporarily reassigned to administrative duties after becoming a conscientious objector to the administration of tube feedings to detainees who were on a hunger strike.

The officer has reportedly not been charged with any violations as of yet.

Lt. Cmdr. Sarah Flaherty, a spokesperson for the Navy, is quoted in the report as stating of the nurse, “His orders were modified…And so he came home early from temporary duty.”
