Austin, TX – Texas Governor Rick Perry has added another attorney to his legal defense team in fighting allegations that he abused his power. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), prominent attorney Mark Fabiani is the sixth addition to Perry’s legal team, which also includes Tony Buzbee, Ben Ginsberg, Bobby Burchfield, Tom Phillips and David Botsford.
As noted by the AP, Fabiani once served as special counsel to President Bill Clinton, as well as helped with Al Gore’s 2000 presidential campaign.
Perry has been indicted on felony charges of abuse of power. Taxpayer funds have paid a reported $80,000 toward Perry’s defense; however, the governor recently stated that his legal costs moving forward would be covered by campaign funds.
