South Carolina – Preorders for the iPhone 6 have reportedly been record setting since the coveted phone went on sale. As reported by WebProNews, despite site crashes and other issues, customers placed an exceedingly high number of orders for the new Apple phone on preorder day, according to the company.
Apple is quoted as saying in a statement to Re/code “Response to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has been incredible with a record number of preorders overnight.”
As noted in the report, what percentage of the total number of preorders were for the iPhone 6 and what percentage was for the iPhone 6 Plus, or how many total were ordered “overnight” was not indicated by Apple.
Models of the iPhone 6 are set to be shipped to customers on September 19.
