Minnesota – Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been released from an endorsement deal with Nike after being indicted on felony charges. As reported by WebProNews, the NFL player who was charged with reckless injury to a child after being accused of injuring his four-year-old son while purportedly disciplining him, pleaded no contest to misdemeanor reckless assault, for which he will not serve any jail time.

As noted in the report, Nike previously suspended Peterson prior to the football player’s guilty plea, but officially ended their sponsorship after.

A spokesperson for Nike is quoted as saying of the matter in a brief statement, “Adrian Peterson is no longer a Nike athlete.”
