According to the UK Daily Mail, the incident occurred on Easter Sunday while she was out with her husband and four children at a Japanese hibachi restaurant. Witnesses say Spelling tripped and fell onto a hot grill that is used during preparation of food in front of patrons. A source is quoted by the Daily Mail as stating of the incident, “You could tell she was hurting, but she was trying to put on a brave face for the sake of her four young children who were quite obviously worried… Dean looked upset too, but you could tell they were doing their best to stay calm and not alarm the children.” The actress reportedly underwent treatment at the Grossman Burn Center in West Hills, California the next day. Spelling made a post on her Instagram account related to the incident stating, “Perfect @Easter Sunday. Aside from the Benihana Burn!” Spelling’s marriage to husband Dean McDermott has been heavily scrutinized in the media since McDermott’s extramarital affair in 2013.
