Report Blames Heat Generated by Buildings for Skewed Climate Change Data
February 15, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ A new report suggests that global warming data may have been compromised by heat-generating objects, such as buildings and airplanes.
According to an article in the Telegraph, the findings in the new report are another blow to the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, which has already come under fire for sketchy data relating to the Himalayan glaciers.
The new report says that the points where some of the data was measured were next to air-conditioning units or on waste-treatment plants. Additionally a reporting station at Rome airport was found to catch the hot exhaust fumes emitted by taxiing jets. The Telegraph says that one reporting station at Manchester airport, which was built when the surrounding land was mainly fields, is now urbanized, surrounded by heated buildings.
