A woman who reportedly injected her friend with a lethal dose of heroin has been convicted of murder.
McKinney, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – A woman who allegedly injected her friend with an overdose of heroin has been convicted of murder. As reported by the Dallas Morning News, Kristin Metz was found guilty by a Collin County jury in a trial stemming the 2008 death of Stevie May.
As noted in the report, the case was deemed rare because both Metz and May were purportedly voluntarily in possession of heroin, which they are stated to have purchased from drug dealer Johnny Gilbertson. Gilbertson was reportedly given a plea deal for drug possession charges, and provided trial testimony for the prosecution.
The sentencing phase of the trial is reportedly set to begin Monday. Metz could receive up to life in prison.
