Florida aviation accident attorney alerts- FAA, NTSB to probe plane crash that resulted in fatal injuries.

Williston, FL—Three people were tragically killed in a two-plane collision in central Florida on Saturday, March 20, 2010. The aviation accident involved a single-engine plane and a homebuilt aircraft, according to information provided by AZCentral.com.

A Williston resident reportedly contacted police officials upon noticing an overturned kit-built aircraft in a field near her home. The female witness reportedly heard a booming sound, allegedly similar to that of a gunshot, before discovering the downed plane. When emergency responders from the Levy County Sheriff’s Office reported to the scene, they apparently noticed the fiery wreckage of a second plane, a Piper PA-32, located a few hundred yards away from the other aircraft involved in the accident. Reports also noted that an oak tree was ignited 40 feet above ground from the location of the damaged single-engine light aircraft.

Emergency crews allegedly discovered two bodies inside the Piper, as well as a deceased 73-year-old male inside the experimental plane. Authorities have withheld the identities of the aviation accident victims pending family notification. While details into the fatal crash are slim, it was noted that the Piper initially departed from the Williston Municipal Airport. The kit-built plane took off from Ocala. It was unknown where either plane was headed before the collision occurred. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are expected to probe the accident.
