Ohio-based company to supply wind turbine bearings and support for Goldwind
July 29, 2010 — Timken will supply wind turbine parts to China’s Xinjiang Goldwind Science & Technology Company as part of a contract worth $26 million.
As part of the agreement, Timken will supply wind turbine products and services, including engineering support, advanced bearings and condition-monitoring systems and services for Goldwind’s current 1.5-megawatt and 2.5-megawatt platforms.
The companies also will collaborate on future wind-turbine developments. Timken supplies a broad range of wind-power solutions including engineering design, gearbox components and systems and tapered, cylindrical, and spherical roller bearings.
