Memphis, TN—Terrorism has been ruled out as a cause of the massive explosion at a manufacturing plant, which makes decoy flares for the military. The explosion left six Kilgore Flares Company workers dead, when the blast ignited around noon on Tuesday, September 14, 2010, reported MSNBC.
Smoke could be seen pouring from the plant for at least 75 miles northeast of Memphis following the blast. Officials are unsure what caused the explosion.
Six people were tragically killed in the blast. Their identities have yet to be released to the public.
Two people were rushed to the Regional Medical Center at Memphis, where they are listed in critical condition. Three others are reportedly in good condition at a hospital in Bolivar.
A full investigation into the explosion and how it occurred is underway. Kilgore is working with authorities to find the cause of the blast.
