Dallas, TX: Its is usually too late when a physician diagnoses someone with mesothelioma cancer. The cancer by then is in its fourth and the last stage. The time span needed by mesothelioma cancer to come into full action spans between 25 to 50 years during which the physician usually treats the patients for the symptoms that resemble some very common aliments like cough, cold, shortening of breath, pain in chest or abdomen etc. as pin pointing mesothelioma cancer in early stages is difficult.

The stage ONE of Mesothelioma cancer. In this stage the mesothelioma cancer cells start growing and multiplying on one layer of Pleura, which is the membrane which covers the lungs and the chest cavity wall. In some cases the diaphragm cover and heart membrane are also infected with mesothelioma cancer cells. In stage one mesothelioma cancer can be cured by surgery

When the patient passes through the SECOND stage of mesothelioma cancer he/she experiences pain in chest, shortness of breadth or dry and persistent cough. This happens as the two layers get effected by mesothelioma cells and the pleura starts producing fluid which is  in excess of the human body’s need. Surgery can help, in this stage but some lymph nodes might have been affected.

In stage THREE the malignant mesothelioma cancer cells spread to the esophagus, the lymph nodes on one part of the chest and covers the chest wall. Patients suffering from this form of cancer is usually in severe pain and must be treated immediately. Surgery cannot be prescribed when the patient is in stage III.

The mesothelioma cancer patient is said to be in stage FOUR when the mesothelioma cancer cells pass into the blood stream and also effect liver, brain and the bones and when mesothelioma cancer effects the other side of chest too.

The patient after being diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer in the last stage survives between 5 moths to 2 years.
