Ultrasonix Medical Announces Internal Promotion and New Appointment
Richmond, BC, Canada – November 12th, 2008 – Ultrasonix Medical Corporation, a leading developer and manufacturer of high quality diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems announced today the appointment of John Fitzgerald to the position of Vice President Sales, International and Wes Charlesworth to the position of General Manager, EMEA.
Mr Fitzgerald joined Ultrasonix in January 2006 as General Manager – EMEA Sales. In August of this year, Mr Fitzgerald took over responsibility for Asia and from January will hold complete responsibility for all markets excluding North America.
John has 32 years of experience in the Medical Imaging business. John’s 32 years of experience in Medical Imaging distribution, as well as his recent successes in increasing sales through our distribution network makes him an ideal choice for this position said Laurent Pelissier, CEO of Ultrasonix. Our 2009 business plans calls for aggressive, profitable growth Internationally, with the release of new products, and we are confident that John is the right person to drive these efforts. Mr Fitzgerald operated his own distribution business in Western Canada prior to his move to Europe as Distributor Manager for ATL. Following ATL, and prior to employment with Ultrasonix, Mr Fitzgerald has worked in distribution for Imatron and Lodox.
The position that Mr Fitzgerald leaves in EMEA will be filled by Wes Charlesworth. Mr Charlesworth brings valuable experience to Ultrasonix from his past work history which includes country Manager for HP/Agilent, Director of Healthcare Agfa, Director of Business Management for Drager AC. Mr Charlesworth commences his role on January 5th 2009. ‘It is an indication of our innovative strategy and rapid sales progress since the launch of or commercial products in 2005 that we are able to attract industry seasoned professionals like Wes commented Laurent Pelissier.
