San Francisco, CA (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A helicopter flown search and rescue team found three burned bodies in a remote hilltop plane crash on Catalina Island Thursday. The Los Angeles Times updated the plane crash details on Friday. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s office reported a search and rescue team located the three charred bodies in the plane wreckage just west of Catalina Island’s Airport in the Sky.

L.A. County Sheriff’s officials confirm there were no survivors in the plane crash and suspect the three unidentified burned bodies are those of the pilot, Mark Hogland, and two passengers. According to the U.S. Coast Guard officials, Hogland chartered a fixed wing Bonanza aircraft out of Orange County on Thursday. He was expected to return to John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana at 5:10 p.m. Thursday and never landed.

Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the ariprlane crash with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) www.ntsb.gov and the medical examiner’s office. Mark Hogland is the president of the Dana Point company, SkyBlue USA, a plane charter company. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) www.faa.gov is also investigating the crash, SkyBlue USA and Hogland’s licensing and certifications.
