Florida truck driver and CSX train engineer seriously injured in train crash.

Tampa Bay, FL (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a flatbed truck driver was struck by a CSX freight train, on Tuesday, derailing all 17 cars and 2 locomotives, as reported by MSNBC. The Helena Chemical Co., truck driver, 61 year old Kim Jan Nagelhoute, was crossing the tracks to turn into the business’s driveway, at the Old Lakeland Highway and Holly Lane railroad crossing, when the freight train hit the big rig.

Naglehoute was transported by emergency medical personnel to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa in serious condition. The CSX train engineer, Willie Lee Brown, was taken by ambulance to Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City. The freight train operator’s condition is unknown. The train accident, which derailed the entire train, also ripped up tracks and left several of the empty coal cars resting side by side. Deputies remain investigating the train accident and charges against the truck driver may be pending.
