Mississippi tornadoes damage 70 homes, flatten church and seriously injure 2.
Jackson, MS (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–CNN reported on Thursday, a tornado struck, near Magee about 40 miles southeast of Jackson, around 4 a.m. destroying an entire church, damaging 70 homes, and seriously injuring two people. The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) www.msema.org also confirmed another tornado damaged nine homes and businesses in Lauderdale County, which is located about 90 miles east of Jackson close to the Alabama border.
Corinth Baptist church, in Magee, was demolished, and emergency medical personnel transported two people by air to the University of Mississippi Center in Jackson. The Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) http://www.gomdot.com/ and power companies say mass power outages across the state left people in the dark before day break. State agency officials and power company workers are continue to try to restore power to homeowners and businesses throughout Mississippi. So far, there have been no reported fatalities.
