Federal agents search home of Rochester contractor for possible illegal dumping.

Rochester, NY–As reported by Newday, the home of Louis Sinisgalli, near Rochester located in upstate New York, was searched by federal and state agents. Court documents reveal, Sinisgalli, a demolition contractor, who deals with removal of chemical debris like asbestos abatement projects, is being investigated in connection with illegal dumping of asbestos products.

The federal investigation into Sinisgalli began last summer after accusations of illegal dumping of asbestos materials. Even though Sinisgalli has not been charged two of his workers have been accused of illegally dumping asbestos and other demolition debris at a suburban Rochester landfill. Last week during the search of his Pittsford, New York home agents removed 48 boxes of evidence including $827,375 in cash from a bedroom closet.

Asbestos containing materials can cause harmful illnesses and diseases like mesothelioma lung cancer when inhaled. Direct and secondary exposure to asbestos products by workers, laborers, and consumers is dangerous. The United Stated federal government and state agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) www.epa.gov have strict guidelines and rules regarding the proper handling and disposing of asbestos related products and debris.
