Boca Raton man charged in federal court of hiding millions in UBS Swiss bank.

Miami, FL (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–The U.S. Attorney’s Office charged a Boca Raton man in a Miami federal court with hiding millions of dollars in assets from United States tax collectors in a UBS Swiss bank. The 55 year old Boca Raton man, Steven Michael Rubinstein, is the first U.S. Citizen charge criminally in the federal government’s nationwide probe of UBS, as reported by the Palm Beach Post.

The federal court judge ordered Rubinstein, a yacht company accountant, to be remanded to jail until a hearing next week. Documents filed before the federal court allege Rubinstein deposited more than $2 million in Kruggerand gold coins into his UBS account. The criminal filing also says the yacht company accountant bought more than 4.5 million Swiss Francs through the UBS bank accounts. He is charged with one count of filing a false tax return and the above fraudulent activities from 2001 to 2008.
