Central Italy hit by massive 6.3 quake leaves over 90 dead plus 50,000 homeless.
San Francisco, CA (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–Rescue workers in Central Italy’s province of L’Aquila continue to desperately search for survivors of a 6.3 magnitude earthquake on Monday morning, as reported by Bloomberg. The center point of the 6.3 magnitude on the Richter scale quake was about 60 miles from Rome. The seismic energy, released by the earthquake this morning, is reported to be the worst to hit Italy in three decades.
The massive quake has killed more than 90 people, caused more than 1,500 injuries, and left 50,000 of the 300,000 central province population homeless. Italian authorities and rescue workers are stating more than 10,000 buildings have been damaged or destroyed. Many homes and several churches dating back to the 13th century have been damaged. One hospital, a student dormitory and a regional police headquarters have been confirmed damaged.
