San Jose area airplane pilot and passenger ID’d by Santa Clara Medical Examiner.
San Jose, CA(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A 1969 fixed-wing Champion Citabria, three seat plane crash on Saturday, left two Sacramento County pilots dead, David Hartley, 53, and John Bergsma III, 49. The identities of both pilots, which the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) www.ntsb.go investigators remain unsure of which one was flying the plane, were identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office and released on Monday, as reported by the San Jose Mercury News.
According to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) www.faa.gov airplane accident investigators, the single-engine Champion Citabria airplane took off from Watsonville around 9:30 a.m. Saturday en route to a private Sacramento area runway. When the aircraft failed to arrive to the airstrip California authorities were alerted. Santa Clara County search and rescue crews found both Wilton men amongst the plane wreckage early Sunday about five miles east of Lick Observatory.
