Nevada Ford Explorer tire tread separation causes fatal SUV rollover.
Dallas, TX(AmericanInjuryNews.com)–A Las Vegas family was tragically injured in a fatal SUV rollover Monday evening because of tire tread separation. The Ford Explorer SUV was driven by 38-year-old Iris Acuna, a pregnant mother, when the fatal rollover wreck occurred. Passengers traveling in the SUV, with the pregnant driver, included her 5 other children. Nevada Highway Patrol I-15 fatality investigators stated the SUV’s tread on the tire separated causing the driver of the Ford Explorer to loose control of the vehicle.
The fatal motor vehicle collision that claimed the lives of the driver and two of her children happened at about 6 p.m. on I-15 northbound around mile marker 233. Nevada roadway accident detectives revealed 5 of the SUV occupants were ejected in the SUV rollover wreck. The surviving passengers include a 2 year-old, 4 year-old, and 19 year-old, presumed to be Acuna’s children, were transported by emergency medical personnel to an area hospital. The pregnant driver’s baby was delivered by emergency C-section but did not survive.
