CA wildfires torches 500 acres-evacuates over 8,000 residents-burns 20 homes.
Los Angeles, CA(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in Santa Barbara County amidst ravaging wildfires. As reported by the Los Angeles Times, 20 multi-million dollar homes in Mission Canyon were ravaged by the out of control wildfire in Santa Barbara County. About 900 firefighters, ari tankers, and helicopters struggle to battle a fire escalated by 50 mph winds.
The California fire crews lost ground because of difficult mountainous terrain and high winds on Wednesday as the blaze consumed some 500 acres. Over 8,000 Santa Barbara residents were evacuated from their homes. Three Ventura County firefighters were injured suffering moderate burns and smoke inhalation. All three firemen were transported by emergency medical crews to Grossman Burn Center in Sherman Oaks for treatment of their serious injuries. The source of the fire remains unknown by fire officials. The fire has already caused millions of dollars in damage to homes and property and continues to burn.
