Asian Companies Dominate Global Outsourcing 100 List
Indian IT firms Top Leaders in Annual IAOP Ranking
/EIN News/POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y., May 26, 2009 – Outsourcing services providers from Asia Pacific continued to dominate the Global Outsourcing 100™ ranking for the second consecutive year, according to lists released by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals™ (IAOP™).
Of the 75 companies making the Leaders category of larger established companies in 2009, India was the second highest country behind the U.S. with 39 firms on the list. India had 16 companies represented, including (4) Tata Consultancy Services; (5) Wipro Technologies; (9) Infosys Technologies; and (11) Genpact.
In the Rising Stars category of smaller fast-growing companies, a China-based company, China Data Group, was recognized for the first time on the list and ranked number two in this segment, following closely behind top Rising Star, U.S.-based Synygy.
Other Rising Star companies from throughout the region include: (80) Emerio, Singapore; (82) Beyondsoft, China; (83) InterGlobe Technologies, India; and (85) Bleum, China.
“Asia, including Southeast Asia, India and China, has emerged as the world’s backoffice,” said IAOP Chairman Michael Corbett. “From manufacturing and call centers to technology services and knowledge-based work, companies around the world are leveraging the skills, infrastructure and talent of the region.”
The newly released Global Outsourcing 100 sublists also show the leading companies by region served. The top outsourcing players in China, in alphabetical order, are: ACS, ChinaSoft International, Colliers International, Concentrix, Dalian Hi-Think Computer Technology, hiSoft Technology International, Insigma, Inspur, NCS and Neusoft.
The Leaders by region served in Southeast Asia are: Comprehensive Health Services, Concentrix, Convergys, HTMT Global Solutions, Indecomm Global Services, Mastek, NCS, Persistent Systems, Tech Mahindra and VADS.
The results of the rankings also provide an indicator of up and coming companies and outsourcing destinations to watch for. These include South America and lower-cost economies that are attracting the next wave of outsourcing, such as Egypt and Sri Lanka.
The leading outsourcing companies in South America are: CPM Braxis, Diebold, Softtek, TCI and TIVIT. An Egyptian company, Xceed, also made the list for the first time at number 79.
