Long Beach area minivan driver seriously injured in collision with police car.
Los Angeles, CA(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A two-vehicle collision injured both drivers Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. In Long Beach, California. The Long Beach Press-Telegram, a newspaper published by the Los Angeles Newspaper Group, reported the crash was between a Long Beach Police Department patrol car and a minivan. Long Beach Fire Department officials state the automobile accident happened at the Wardlow Road and Los Coyotes intersection.
Long Beach Police Department officials say both motor vehicles incurred serious damage and both drivers suffered moderate injuries. The driver of the minivan, a woman whose name was not released, became trapped inside her vehicle after the air bag deployed during the car crash. Fire rescue crews and emergency medical services (EMS) personnel used the Jaws of Life to extricate the seriously injured female driver from the van. The woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment of neck and back injuries. The cause of the motor vehicle collision (MVC) remains under investigation by Long Beach Police Department roadway accident injury detectives.
