Daytona Beach, FL–A three-car motor vehicle collision (MVC) seriously injured one woman in Volusia County, Florida on Tuesday morning. At least two others suffered minor injuries. West Volusia News reports the three-vehicle automobile accident happened at approximately 9:15 a.m. in Samsula-Spruce Creek on Tuesday. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) state troopers claim a station wagon, operated by 56 year-old, Michael Dryver of Massachusetts, was traveling northbound on State Road 415 when it stopped at the Kersey Road traffic light, located between Pioneer Trail and State Road 44. An SUV, also heading northbound on State Road 415, was passing slower cars before it rear-ended Dryver’s station wagon. Florida police authorities indicate the driver, 33 year-old, Joshua Norman of New Mexico, was unable to brake in time. Samsula-Spruce Creek area roadway accident investigators say the force, from the SUV, pushed Dryver’s vehicle into the car in front of it. No information was given about the third vehicle involved in the three-auto accident.

Dryver suffered minor injuries, while his passenger, 81 year-old, Maria Dryver of Massachusetts, sustained critical injuries. Maria Dryver was airlifted, by Volusia County area emergency medical services (EMS) personnel, to Halifax Health Medical Center for treatment by doctors and nurses. Norman also sustained minor injuries. The names and conditions of the occupants in the third vehicle are unknown. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the car accident. As of Wednesday, no charges were filed against Norman as Florida police investigators continued to investigate the three-vehicle car wreck.
