Cali Cajon Pass massive pileup injures over 10 travelers in San Bernardino County.

Cajon Pass, CA(JusticeNewsFlash.com)A major motor vehicle collision (MVC) in the Cajon Pass involving a 30-car pileup injured at least ten people on Wednesday. The Redlands Daily Facts reports the automobile accident started at approximately 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. California Highway Patrol (CHP) state troopers say the 15 Freeway accident affected those driving in the High Desert in San Bernardino County that morning. A heavy fog made it difficult for motorists to see the vehicles traveling ahead of them. At around 7:30 a.m., an 18-wheeler truck hit another truck after it swerved to avoid hitting other vehicles. The truck wreck happened near Hesperia on the north 15, south of Oak Hill Road. CHP officials say the truck wreck and the fog caused nearly 30 other automobiles, including SUVs, cars, and pickup trucks, to crash into one another. Many vehicles were rear-ended and suffered damage to the sides of the cars.

San Bernardino County area paramedics and fire rescue crews arrived at the scene shortly after the 30 vehicle mess. Ten people were transported to local hospitals by five California ambulances. Of the ten injured victims, two sustained serious injuries. As a precaution, seven other ambulances stayed at the accident scene to help any other injured motorists. Highway accident investigators had both northbound and southbound lanes of the 15 Freeway closed off. The southbound lane resumed traffic soon after closing it off, while the northbound lane stayed shut down for nearly six hours. The freeway was pressure cleaned before traffic resumed. Traffic returned to normal at about 1:30 p.m.
