FHP responds to heinous auto accident scene after horse rips through minivan.

Pensacola, FL(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A scene out of a horror movie left Escambia County police and fire officials along with area motorists scratching their heads Friday morning after a terrible accident involving a rogue horse and several motor vehicle drivers on Florida’s Highway 29 late Thursday night. According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Troopers, a Dodge Caravan minivan driver struck a horse in front of the Victory Assembly of God, on Highway 29, near Molino, at about 10:45 p.m., Thursday. The striking, of the spooked horse by the Pensacola van driver, set in motion a domino effect causing the driver of a Ford Focus, on Northbound Highway 29, to strike a large portion of the horse remains, as reported by NorthEscambia Internet news service. This crash launched the Ford airborne causing the automobile to roll over multiple times. The young teenage driver of another Ford automobile also hit the horse carcas but was reportedly not injured.

Escambia County Fire Rescue stations, from Molino and Cantonment, along with Escambia County EMS, and Escambia County Sheriff’s Department also responded to the tragic three vehicle wreck which left the horse dead, and a Ford driver and passenger seriously injured. Escambia County emergency medical services (EMS) personnel transported passenger, 56 year-old, Linda Batte, of Brewton, by ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment of her serious injuries. A LifeFlight emergency medical helicopter team flew the driver of the Ford Focus, 31 year-old, Mireli Scott a McDavid resident, to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola for treatment by doctors and nurses for the traumatic injuries she suffered after the rollover.

According to FHP troopers the horse’s initial crash with the Dodge minivan smashed the windshield, peeled the roof back, left the passenger seat bent backwards, and a large portion of the horse in the backseat. FHP highway accident investigators are asking anyone who knows the identity of the horse’s owner to call Trooper Brian Wood at (850) 484-5000.
