Warren County robe maker recalls womens’ robes after 6 reported deaths.

Pittsburgh, PA(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) www.cpsc.gov has re-announced a recall of 162,000 women’s Chenille Robes on June 11, 2009. Blair LLC, from Warren, Pennsylvania, reported the voluntary recall after being notified of deaths caused by the full-length Chenille robes. The original recall, announced in April 2009, was made after receiving three reports of robes catching on fire. Letters were sent out to consumers by Blair LLC, notifying them of the recall. Despite these efforts, the Warren County company continued to receive reports of the robes catching on fire, including six reported deaths.

The following item numbers are under recall:

– 3093111, 3093112, 3093113, 3093114, 3093115, 3093116

The item numbers can be found in the robe’s neckline. The label should also read “100% Cotton, RN 81700, Made in Pakistan”. The one-piece garment consists of self-cuffed long sleeves, seven matching buttons along the front, a straight bottom, and two side pockets. The Chenille robes sold for retail on Blair’s website and catalogs. The recalled garments were also sold in Blair stores in Delaware and Pennsylvania from January 2003 to March 2009.

Consumers should stop wearing the recalled robes immediately. A $50 gift card for Blair products or a refund is available for consumers who bought the garments. Contact the Pennsylvania firm at 877-392-7095, visit Blair’s website at www.blair.com/recall, or email Blair LLC at [email protected] for more information.
