Beverly Hills Loaded Boards recalls 1,200 sets of wheels for injury risk.
Los Angeles, CA(JusticeNewFlash.com)–The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) www.cpsc.gov was created through the Consumer Product Safety Act. The CPSC is responsible for protecting consumers from injuries related to consumer products. Federal regulators and Loaded Boards, Inc. have issued a recall of approximately 1,200 sets of skateboard wheels on June 23, 2009. Loaded Boards is a firm based out of Beverly Hills, California. The company cooperated with the voluntary recall of Orangatang Skateboard Wheels after discovering the skateboard’s wheels pose a serious injury risk. The wheels may separate from the axle and bearings when the wheel’s core shears and blow out.
The following styles are under federal recall:
– 75mm/purple/83a durometer Orangatang “In-Heat” skateboard wheels
– 75mm/orange/80a durometer Orangatang “In-Heat” skateboard wheels
The recalled sets of wheels, made in the United States, retailed for approximately $55 between March 2009 and April 2009. The recalled products could be purchased at authorized Loaded Boards/Orangatang Wheels dealers across the country. No injuries related to the recalled items have been reported. However, there have been 10 reported incidents of wheels separating from the axle and bearings. Consumers are urged to stop using the recalled item. A free replacement is available upon request.
