Kenosha, WI — The head of the Gateway Technical College Foundation died in a solo motorcycle accident on Monday. The charitable foundation leader was riding home from a two-week motorcycle trip when he struck a mile marker, 40 miles outside of Ely, Nevada, as reported by the Kenosha News. Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) identified the motorcyclist as 59-year-old Ken Vetrovec, of Caledonia, Wisconsin. NHP troopers claim, it appeared, Vetrovec was taking pictures when the accident occurred. NHP officials discovered the last photo stored in the biker’s digital camera showed the curve where Vetrovec hit the mile marker and crashed.

Ken Vetrovec spent the last five years as head of the charitable foundation of Gateway Technical College. According to Gateway Technical College’s website http://www.gtc.edu, the foundation supports and promotes educational programs. The foundation also offers opportunities for students and members of the community to become involved through private gifts and grants. In addition, Vetrovec served six terms on the Racine County Board. He also volunteered countless hours to local Boy Scout troops and Rotary organizations.
