Boston, MA–On June 29, 2009 at 1:30 a.m., a car crashed into a large tree on County Road, a winding two-lane street on Pocasset, injuring three and leaving one dead according to the Boston Globe. Cassandra Flynn, who recently turned 21, died in the Buzzard’s Bay crash and her friend Erica Pouler suffered multiple injuries while celebrating the birthday. Twenty-one-year-old Jonathan Muir, who was driving the 1984 Porsche 944, apparently lost control of the coupe and crashed into a tree. Muir and D’Angelo both suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to Falmouth Hospital. Flynn was also taken to Falmouth Hospital and was pronounced dead at about 2:30 a.m. Pouler suffered multiple injuries in the crash and was initially transported to Tobey Hospital in Wareham, and then transferred to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. According to Bourne area police officers, there was no evidence alcohol played a role in the crash. Factors do include speed and a damp roadway.
