Dinner Key area Bayliner boat crash kills 2 brothers off Florida coast.

Miami, FL–Two brothers were tragically killed in a boating accident two miles south of Dinner Key. The maritime accident reportedly happened around midnight on Friday, July 10, 2009, as reported by the Miami Herald. According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) http://www.myfwc.com/, the boating accident occurred when a 23-foot Bayliner crashed into the brothers 21-foot Hewes boat, only a mile from shore. The brothers, Charles W. Clayton, 32, of Palmetto Bay and Wade A. Clayton, 33, of Plantation were both experienced fishermen and anglers. The young men were known to travel the world on fishing trips.

The impact of the Bayliner ejected the two brothers and one passenger, Brandon P. Foster, on board the Hewes. The Bayliner crew then began rescuing the ejected men from the water; Foster was able to swim back to the boat. The Bayliner crew pulled one unconscious man out of the water, but he was reportedly not breathing. Charles Clayton was found in the water at the boating accident site, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Wade Clayton was found over an hour later and was pronounced dead. Foster was reportedly transported by emergency medical services (EMS) crews to Mercy Hospital for treatment of his unknown injuries.

Miami-Dade County emergency response crews were delayed in arriving to the accident scene, due to inaccurate global positioning system (GPS) coordinates, and difficulties deploying a flare gun. The driver of the 23-foot Bayliner, Paudides Machado, 46, has not been charged with crimes or violations related to the tragic boating accident at this time.
