Kodak agrees to pay $21.4 million to African-American workers.
Rochester, NY–Employment law attorneys participating in two class action lawsuits against Rochester based Eastman Kodak Co., are anticipating the approval of a $21.4 million race discrimination lawsuit settlement agreement by the judge in a Rochester federal court. The approved racial discrimination class action lawsuits accused Koda of discriminatory practices in pay and promotions against two large groups of former and current African-American employees, as reported by the Democrat and Chronicle on Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
According to New York federal court documents, two different groups filed class action litigations against the multinational U.S. Corporation in 2004 and 2007. The Employees Committed for Justice and another group of Kodak workers filed await the final approval of the tentative lawsuit settlement agreement by a U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan W. Feldman in mid-September. Kodak, a worldwide imaging and photographic materials equipment manufacturer and retailer, admits no wrongdoing in the employment lawsuit settlement agreement.
